- Radio receiver for dew point control for dehumidification of cellars with wired sensors
Description
The dew-point control reliably protects cellars and living spaces from moisture and mould: it ventilates fully automatically precisely when the outside air is actually drier than the indoor air – energy-efficient and with no manual effort.
- Automatic cellar ventilation control for moisture reduction
- Measures temperature and humidity indoors and outdoors – ventilates only when it makes sense
- Prevents mould formation through intelligent dew-point calculation
- Controls Ambientika SOLO+, SMART & OFFICE ventilation units fully automatically
Now connects directly with SMART & OFFICE
New: the dew-point control can now be connected directly with Ambientika SMART and OFFICE – fully automatically via the Home Assistant smart-home system. Your fans react in real time to the dew-point logic, with no extra wiring.
By the way: the Ambientika radon meter can optionally be combined the same way. In that case radon protection takes priority and overrides the dew-point control when needed.
🔧 Guide: connecting the dew-point control with SMART or OFFICE in Home Assistant
- Prepare the MQTT broker
In Home Assistant, install and start the “Mosquitto broker” add-on. Create an MQTT user + password.
In plain words: the broker is the “switchboard” your devices and Home Assistant use to talk to each other. - Get the Ambientika MQTT Bridge
Download the repository and copy the example configuration.git clone https://github.com/ambientika-eu/ambientika-mqtt-bridge.gitIn plain words: you download the ready-made connector and create your own settings file (.env).
cd ambientika-mqtt-bridge
cp .env.example .env - Enter your credentials
In the.envfile, enter your own Ambientika login, the MQTT address and the MQTT user/password.AMBIENTIKA_USERNAME=your@email.comIn plain words: enter your own data here. It stays local on your device and must never be shared.
AMBIENTIKA_PASSWORD=YourAmbientikaPassword
MQTT_HOST=192.168.1.50
MQTT_USERNAME=your-mqtt-user
MQTT_PASSWORD=YourMqttPassword
HA_DISCOVERY=true - Start the bridge
docker compose up -dIn plain words: one command starts the bridge. From now on it automatically connects cloud → MQTT. - Auto-discovery in Home Assistant
Thanks toHA_DISCOVERY=truethe devices appear automatically under Settings → Devices & Services → MQTT.
In plain words: you don't have to add anything by hand – Home Assistant finds the dew-point control and the fans on its own. - Done
SMART/OFFICE fans now react automatically to the dew-point logic – ventilation only runs when it really makes sense.
By the way: the Ambientika radon meter can be integrated the same way too. In that case radon protection takes priority and overrides the dew-point control when needed.

Works with NeuraCell-X®
This dew-point control is NeuraCell-X®-ready. Together with the NeuraCell-X® AI control (patent pending) and Ambientika SMART or OFFICE, humidity control becomes one intelligent, integrated system – with priority for radon protection.
Pair the dew-point control with NeuraCell-X® via MQTT – no programming required.
Ventilation only runs when ventilating actually makes sense.
On a radon alarm, protection takes priority – then back to the humidity logic.
✓ Compatible with SMART ✓ Compatible with OFFICE ✓ Easy connection
NeuraCell-X® and PhaseCell-X® are registered trademarks. Patent pending.

Dew-point ventilation control for cellar dehumidification
The dew point ventilation control is used for automatic cellar ventilation to reduce humidity.
The best time to ventilate is determined from the dew point, using two precision sensors measuring both the internal and external air temperature and humidity. The control unit then automatically switches on the SOLO+ fan.
Up to 10 SOLO+ fans can be connected to the dew-point control. Each SOLO+ ventilation system covers a cellar area of 30 m².
We supply the dew point control unit as standard with the app and wired sensors (Wi-Fi is required for the wireless sensors), and without a radio receiver (i.e. the power supply of the fans comes directly from the dew-point control unit).
If you connect several SOLO+ fans, you can set them to cross-ventilation mode directly on the dew-point control.
Optionally available:
- Wireless sensors (Wi-Fi required)
- Radio receiver (no Wi-Fi needed for this. With this you can switch off the power supply to the fans by radio)
Programmable settings:
- minimum temperature
- maximum temperature
- ventilation time
- ventilation pause
- switching differential
- minimum humidity
- keypad lock
- operation time
Optimal settings:
- minimum temperature: 12 °C
- maximum temperature: 25 °C
- ventilation time: 30 minutes
- ventilation pause: 20 minutes
- switching differential: 1.0
- keypad lock: Off
- operation time: 00:00 till 23:59
How the dew-point control works
The function of the dew point control is explained below. Temperature and humidity sensors measure the indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity. The control unit records and evaluates these readings. When you set up the control unit, you define the following parameters:
- minimum and maximum temperature for the interior
- minimum humidity (also called target humidity) for the interior
- Difference in absolute humidity between inside and outside
- other settings such as time, working time, ventilation time, etc. (explanations of these settings are listed in detail in the operating instructions)
The control unit ventilates when it is drier outside than inside to dry the room. Otherwise, the message “It is not dry enough outside” appears. The absolute humidity is used for this, not the relative humidity. You can see the absolute humidity on the last line of the display. In addition, other conditions must be met for the ventilation to be switched on:

The indoor temperature must be within the set limits. The minimum and maximum temperatures you set are crucial for this. Otherwise, the message “Minimum temperature reached” or “Maximum temperature reached” appears. If the indoor temperature is outside these limits, the device can only ventilate if the outdoor temperature is such that ventilating brings the indoor temperature closer to the set limits (heating or cooling the room). Example 1: Indoor temperature: 18 °C, minimum temperature: 20 °C, maximum temperature: 27 °C. The indoor temperature is outside the limits. Ventilation can only take place when the outdoor temperature is greater than 18 °C so that the room can be heated and thus brought closer to 20 °C.
Example 2: Indoor temperature: 28 °C, minimum temperature: 20 °C, maximum temperature: 27 °C. The indoor temperature is outside the limits. Ventilation can only take place when the outdoor temperature is lower than 28 °C so that the room can be cooled and thus brought closer to 27 °C. The relative humidity inside must be greater than the set target humidity. Otherwise, the message “Target humidity reached” appears. In addition, the current time must be within the working time limits you have set. Otherwise, the message “Outside working hours” will appear. If the conditions are met, the device switches the ventilation on. This continues for as long as the conditions remain met, or until the set ventilation time has elapsed. Regardless of why the ventilation is switched off again, the message “Fan pause” always appears on the display. Only after the pause are all conditions checked again and ventilation can begin again. Example: absolute humidity inside: 12, absolute humidity outside: 10.8, difference: 1.0, ventilation: off.
Since the absolute humidity inside is greater than the absolute humidity outside plus the difference (12 > 11.8), the ventilation is now switched on (provided the other conditions are also met). It is only switched off at the end of the ventilation time or when the absolute humidity outside is at least as high as the absolute humidity inside
(difference for switching off is always 0). After the pause, the device is only switched on again when the difference of 1.0
is maintained. The cycle from this example then starts again.
Radio receiver
A radio receiver, to which you can connect the fan, is available as an option.
It allows you to use nearby sockets with no need to run cables across different rooms.

App
The app allows you to analyse daily and monthly internal and external humidity and temperature values. It also provides real-time data on device operation thanks to an operating hours meter and event recorder.
The app runs on Android, Windows and iOS devices.

If required, the dew-point control can also communicate via Wi-Fi. It simply connects to your Wi-Fi network like a mobile phone, and it is ready for operation.
AWESOME!
The humidity level in the basement (approx. 25 sqm) decreased by 15% (!!!!) rel. humidity within 2 days (continuous operation) and remains stable with +/- 1% (approx. 58%). I no longer need an electric dehumidifier ..... The system is quiet. The temperature also remains stable at 19.5-20.5 degrees. I can now use that part of the basement as an office.... You helped me a lot. Many thanks to you and your team...
