Why decentralised residential ventilation?
Moisture and poor air quality are common in modern, airtight buildings – and airing them through open windows wastes heat. A residential ventilation system automatically ensures fresh air, reduces humidity and helps prevent mould growth. At the same time, the heat is retained inside the building.
Summer and winter: the room temperature stays where it is
The ceramic core has a memory for temperature. It absorbs what your rooms already have and returns it to the incoming air — the warmth in winter, the coolness in summer. One technology, two seasons, one result: fresh air without upsetting the room temperature.

SMART mode:
Based on the readings from four integrated sensors in the indoor unit, the ventilation system independently decides how best to ventilate the space in order to achieve perfect air quality in the living space. These readings are compared online with data from the nearest weather station.

Away from home mode
The unit is off; the humidity threshold is fixed at 60% and cannot be changed.
When the humidity value detected by the sensor exceeds 60%, the product switches to heat recovery mode at speed 1.
Light sensor is not active.
Air flow system
with selectable direction so you can choose the best side of the house for the incoming air.
Weekly schedule
If you press the “SCHEDULED” button, you can create time slots for a weekly schedule. Days can also be copied. If you want to plan the entire day, you must cover every time period of the day. If the day is not completely filled with time slots, the previously active mode will automatically be reactivated after a time slot ends.

The Ambientika advanced B+ brings decentralised ventilation with heat recovery to the bathroom: the integrated humidity sensor automatically detects raised humidity and thus prevents mould and damp walls.
It is very popular with energy consultants in particular because they also want to have heat recovery in bathrooms. This fan is therefore 2-in-1:The timer button can be pressed as required, then the fan extracts at full power for 20 minutes and then switches back to heat recovery mode in order to dry out the moisture which is stored in the walls (or automatically, triggered by the humidity sensor).
Manual boost via wall switch (RS485) – Guide
A standard 230 V wall switch can trigger a manual boost on the advanced B+ — without Wi-Fi or an app. One press sets the unit to level 3 (boost) for 20 minutes; a second press ends it early. The unit then automatically returns to automatic mode. The humidity sensor stays active throughout.
How it works – step by step:
- A control unit (Arduino + MAX485 RS485 module, coupling relay, 5 V power supply) is installed in the distribution board.
- The wall switch sends 230 V to the coupling relay; its volt-free contact connects to the control unit.
- The control unit connects via RS485 to the device terminals 4 (A), 3 (B) and 5 (GND).
- Set the DIP switch on the device to "Master with wall panel" and fit the 120 Ω termination.
- Done — pressing the switch tests the boost.

The strength of Ambientika – fight against mould!
Wireless
Ambientika, the single room heat recovery ventilation can be connected by cable or wirelessly, to generate an air flow in your home, by supporting up to 16 units.
Remote control
Remote control included. It is also possible to connect the product to a home or building automation system. Optional: remote controller, remote panel or wall switch.
Sensors
Humidistat, anti-mildew, and optional CO2 sensor in the wall panel (ADVANCED+ and WIRELESS+)
Monitoring mode
The single room heat recovery ventilation device remains off but active – if the humidity or air quality limits are exceeded, it switches on.
Shutter
Motorised shutter that closes when the device is off (against cold and noise from the outside); thanks to its wax actuator with no rotating parts, the mechanism has a virtually unlimited service life.
Auto mode
In the AUTOMATIC mode, the single room heat recovery ventilation device regulates itself for ideal comfort – with no need for you to intervene.
Cleaning
Fast cleaning and maintenance, thanks to the easily removable inner cover; an LED tells you when the filter needs cleaning.

Pollutants
Our homes are inevitably saturated with polluting agents.
The pollutants are suspended in the air of home environments, and can irritate the airways. These substances derive from paints, varnishes and solvents on walls and in furniture, from smog and CO₂ emissions, and from smoke and dust. Mould growth and the spread of mites and bacteria are encouraged by damp, poorly ventilated rooms.
Energy & low-energy homes
Does the air exchange in home and commercial environments undermine the performance of the Climate House system?
Not with Ambientika. A robust ceramic heat exchanger minimises heat loss during air exchange. The temperature – whether warm or cold – is affected as little as possible, with an energy yield of 93%.

The air filter of the ventilation unit should be cleaned every three months and replaced after two years. You can change or clean the filter yourself in no time at all without the need for any separate tools. The heat exchanger is made from ceramic mixed with aluminium oxide. This material absorbs very little water, which is very important in terms of hygiene and bacterial growth.

Everything works without any problems
In 2021, we purchased four decentralised ventilation units from the South Tyrolean company Südwind GmbH. Three of them are radio-controlled. However, there were problems with our smart home solution because it transmits on the same frequency. Südwind replaced the three radio-controlled indoor units with updated new ones within a few days, without any ifs or buts. Free of charge. Now everything works without a hitch. Dear Mr. Saxalber, We have currently been back in our 2nd home in northern Portugal for 4 days and are delighted with the effect of the ventilation. The otherwise high humidity in the house, due to the climate and the building, used to be aired, after a fashion, by a cleaning lady.
